Grateful thanks to Fonzie, from eBay shop jotomaboiz_9, for very kindly giving us permission to display this backstamp which was found on the base of a Madras plate. We researched this company on the net, but without success. However, thanks to research carried out by a member of The Brickwall Club, Anne Callanan, we believe that Gardner were manufacturers of lamps and chandeliers. We're not sure why their stamp would have been on the base of a Furnival plate - they must have been diversifying!
