Grateful thanks to Gavin of East Bristol Auctions for very kindly allowing us to publish these photographs of this superb Furnivals children's tea service, which they are offering at auction on 3rd / 4th October 2019.
The lot is described as, "An early 19th Century flow blue / blue and white miniature child's tea service depicting Chinese Acrobats and Dancers throughout with blue pattern borders. The set consists of tea pot, cups and saucers, side plates, sugar bowl and creamer / milk jug. Marks to base for Chinese Sports TF & Co ( Thomas Furnival & Co ). Teapot measures 10cm tall by 15cm wide.
This is the first example that we have come across of a child's tea service made by Furnivals, although we are sure that there are others.
What a lovely, rare set!!!! We are very envious! :-)
