The House of Hohenzollern is a royal dynasty of Hohenzollern, Brandenburg, Prussia, the German Empire, and Romania. The family arose in the area around the town of Hechingen in Swabia during the 11th century and took their name from Hohenzollern Castle.
The dynasty owned 28 palaces across Germany and, to meet the empire’s enormous demand for porcelain, in 1763 they bought a private porcelain factory, the Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur (KPM) in Berlin. However, it would appear that these vases were made by Furnivals Limited, as they bear the anchor and rapier mark and, what appears to be "Furnivals Limited" on the base.
