This pattern, although marked with Furnivals (Staffordshire) Ltd., actually comes from the Enoch Wedgwood factory. The Furnival works at Elder Road were closed in 1968 and the company name was purchased by Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd. The mark on the right includes a unicorn - a reminder of Enoch Wedgwood's origins as Wedgwood & Co., of the Unicorn and Pinnox Pottery, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.. Enoch Wedgwood produced earthenware from 1965 to 1980, when the company was taken over by the Josiah Wedgwood Group and renamed Unicorn Pottery.
